SCISSOR LIFT
Scissor lifts are work platforms used to safely move workers vertically and to different locations in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, retail and construction. Because of their versatility, they provide convenience to employees as they no longer need additional scaffolding or ladders to perform common tasks.
The safety of the scissor lift is very important and depends on the evaluation of the capabilities, limitations and safe working practices of the equipment. In one year, 10 preventable deaths and more than 20 preventable injuries due to various scissor lift incidents were investigated. Studies have shown that most of these injuries and deaths were due to careless protection of employers from falls, stabilization, and the situation.
This course is designed to introduce you to the different types of hazards associated with scissor lifts and to help you understand the precautions you can take to be safe when working on or near them.
